BY DISABLED PUNKS
Patched & Smacked began almost a decade ago, when Sue picked up a hammer to make engraved jewelry with their own two hands. Creating only what they loved, not what a trend would tell them to do, the shop grew to the point of Refinery29 fame, until Sue was forced to pack their bench block away in 2017 as they became Big Sick and disabled.
Armed with new meds and their partner Tricia, Patched & Smacked is back and better than ever. The time away from the anvil, much to Sue's surprise, not only gave them time to heal but to grow. Our new designs turn simple accessories into wearable art that speaks to who we are:
disabled, nerdy, queer punks.
We source our fabrics from thrift shops and deadstock retailers. Our metal comes from small artisans. We do our utmost to do right by the environment, as well as our local economy.
Based in Worcester, Massachusetts, you can find us often at outdoor vending events, such as Worcester Pride and pop up markets. Due to being high risk, we will only attend events that are outdoors, or otherwise full mask/vax policy.
Follow us on Tiktok for behind the scenes footage of the process, and Geoff, our shop skeleton.
